Dear all,
As most of you might know, the M23 rebels have entered in Goma, capital of North Kivu, and thousands of persons have started fleeing the city. Humanitarian workers have also been evacuated to Kinshasa; among them, at least I am aware that two of our fellow Masteronas were in Goma. The Board 2.0 would like to send them a message of support, hoping that they have reached safe heaven, and we would like to invite all interested persons to share info on how the situation evolves.
I leave a link to the BBC latest report on the situation: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-20405739
Goma is not the only place where critical human rights violations are taking place – the invitation to share info therefore is open to other spotlights where we count on the invaluable source of info that could be provided by our fellow Masteroni.
Best,
Alba
Dear all,
According to BBC, rebels have withdrawn from Goma: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-20565711
For further information on these events, the International Crisis Groups has issued a comprehensive report, available here:
I have had no response from the Masteroni in Goma, but they will be hopefully ok.
Best,
Alba
